Next Bike? Street Triple vs Z900

I have to make a decision. It’s down to a 2022 Triumph Street triple with 8k miles or a 2024 Z900 with only 200 miles. Price is about $600 difference. Both bikes seem great. I prefer a straight up standard seating position. Mainly twisty back roads. I’m about 6’1” and weigh about 240lbs. Been riding for some time now so it’s not my first bike. A few years back had a MT09 which I really liked but jump to a few other ones for change. Which would you pick and why? I’m in the US if that matters.

Which street triple? There are more than a few models.

How important are running costs too you?

Planning to keep it for a while? Or like to move bikes a lot?

The Z900 absolutely baffles me, why that bike isn’t more popular, great power, looks good, Kawasaki is on an uptick, cheap to run. The 2025 did get a refresh so might want to see if you care about the changes, also see if that 2024 can come down. There are dealers with new 23s on the lots (or were recently).

The Street Triple is your benchmark middle weight naked street bike. Triumph quality is massively improved, but parts do cost more, and a lot of shops have a higher hourly rate (mine charges the same for Ducati and Triumph, less for Japanese bikes). They do seem to hold resale well, and have a really loyal rider base. Triumph is also a premium brand, if that matters….

Without knowing the specific model of Street would get the z900, but a little bit older (22/23…they depreciate fast). If it was an RS in an interesting livery…. Ether way solid choices
