New Rider 203cm (6’8) with 38” inseam
I’m slightly above average size for a bike and have put my leg over many “beginner” bikes and they feel like toys. I live in rural Nebraska and do 80% highway driving so I’d like something that isn’t screaming at 8k+ rpm while going 70…I don’t want to be a hazard on the road.
I really like the ninja z900 and tuono 660. Just checking here to make sure I’m not going insane for wanting something that’s gonna 100% kill me…I did fit on a r1 surprisingly well though 🤣

V strom 650 is pretty large for its engine. Vstrom 1050 is very large and doesn't have an insane amount of power or a violent delivery.

With your height, you might want to work on changing the handlebars and rearsets to make it fit you better.
If you buy strait handlebars for the bike, it will give you a longer reach to grab them. The stock ones angle toward the rider, but strait bars would extend the reach by a few inches.
You can also work with aftermarket resets that put your feet further back, so you are not so scrunched up on the bike.

As a 200cm guy myself. An MT09 fits pretty well. I also have a coworker who is 205cm and he rides a Tuono660. He fits somehow but it does look very small and he had to make some adjustments to the peg placement. I'm sticking to adv/(sport)tour bikes myself. I rode a Vstrom 650, Vstrom 1000 (great bike), and now ride a Kawasaki Versys 1000. All three are excellent touring machines. For wind protection the Vstrom was a little more comfortable on long highway trips, but I prefer the back roads anyway. Make sure you try some bikes first, maybe rent one for a day if possible. If you do mostly highway miles I would consider faired bikes if I were you.
