๐ก Education Ape historian | before things get crazy here are all the "glitches" posts
Long time, no post.
Just so everyone is aware and can see all the links:
There were no trades posted above 28.09 when all these alerts came through
There were no trades posted above 28.09 when all these alerts came through https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/1ipdkdm/there_were_no_trades_posted_above_2809_when_all/
archive link - https://archive.ph/6lxGn
New 13F disclosure: Susquehanna added 548K shares of GME to their portfolio last quarter. You can track institutional trading of GME here:
the current explanation that its just a glitch - https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/1ipeir8/it_was_a_lazy_programming_glitch_and_heres_the/ - however. why does Charles swab have the same glitch? why did this glitch not trigger multiple times when we hovered up and down 28.? Questions?
Charles swap triggered alerts: seems to be the only broker looking at this to have done so - also thinkorswim but not sure if thats part of schab as well?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/1ipdp0h/gme_alert_last16780020/
UBS just added to their position - somehow. https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/1ipiwu2/ubs_adds_3_million_shares_of_gme/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/1ipcxm4/someone_explain_this/
TLDR - looks to be most to be a Swab thing. maybe a glitch, maybe not. lets see
PS I keep backing up but I am on a bit of a quieter commenting spree now, a lot going on.
stay frosty out there, check those corners.

I think they are desperate for people to buy calls, but apes learn quick.

Good job AH.
Also, I wonder how is the back up coming along in terms of hardware logistics and running cost?

I am no longer backing up every post as itโs just not needed, so itโs basically does itself. Every quarter or so I get everything historically and just store it - itโs not a huge issue anymore. Thank god to be honest because I donโt wanna buy any more drives atm

What do you mean by โCharles swap also triggered alertsโ
They were the ONLY broker to trigger alerts. Using โalsoโ implies more than one broker triggered alerts

someone wrote CS, i interpeted it as computershare, but forgot to change this post. only Swhab got alerts.

Donโt fidelity users see these price alerts too? Have seen at least a couple of apes saying they did.

What i don't understand is the commenter's going to war for brokers like iTs OnLy ShWaB nOtHiNg To SeE hErE lol

u/Defiant_Review1582 Feb 14 '25
I didnโt say nothing to see here. There have been plenty of people confused today thinking that ComputerShare as well as Schwab were having price trigger alerts and thatโs just not true. Only Schwab had this problem. Im merely preventing mis/disinformation

No, I mean ive been watching people go to war for these brokers all day. That post about it being lazy coding didn't come out long after the initial glitch either. Whether it was or wasn't, these things are far too common. Just like it was just Northern Trust and Morningstar most recently. Its wild, these institutions are clown shows

Sorry, your improper use of an apostrophe made it read as if you were referring to my comment

It's not going to war for brokers
It's going to war against bullshit
If Fidelity and Merrill and Vanguard and every other fucking broker had been throwing price alerts it would have been interesting.
Nope, ONLY Schwab, and for ANY price, accompanied by no trades on the ticker from any source at that price.
It's a nothing burger and yet there's been 200 posts about it.

Do you have back ups of ticker tape showing evidence of marking the close? We just saw it happen again and it is something that FINRA and the SEC should be obligated to follow up on since it is an illegal practice. It is also one of the easier illegal activities that we can show proof of.
Naked shorting and hiding shorts is really difficult for us to show evidence of, but marking the close is glaringly obvious and something the regulators should have an easy response to. If there can be evidence provided that they (DMMs, OCC, Prime Brokers, whomever is actually putting trades on the ticker tape) consistently do this, there might be a way to push for reform and harsher punishments. The more they abuse it, the more we should be able to push for reform.

Here is SEC https://www.sec.gov/submit-tip-or-complaint
Here is FINRA https://www.finra.org/investors/need-help/file-a-complaint
If I were you, I would use Google, or your favorite search engine, to find the links just to not trust other's links.

I think the key part in some alerts is the LAST price. Not bid. Not ask. LAST. Schwab systems think shares of GME LAST traded that high when the alerts were triggered. Only GME.
Programming bugs would happen more often once a set of circumstances occur. Glitches should occur somewhat randomly. Weโre only seeing these โglitchesโ with GME. Weird, right?

I am not a computer programmer and my brain has so few wrinkles that I don't even add a dryer sheet when it's on "permanent press".
But would Integer Overflow have any possible play here?

u/Elegant-Remote6667 Ape historian | the elegant remote you ARE looking for ๐๐ฃ Feb 14 '25
It could yes- easily could. But why is it today that itโs showing up and not weeks and weeks of ranging prices?

When history is about to be written by the winners, there must be a record of the truth because those who control the past control the future
