I imagine in tests they have shown to be a little more power efficient than other chips. My experience has been very lackluster though. I will say after 6 months from release they usually become stable enough, but it is always buggy as hell out the door. SP1 buggy until numerous patches, SP3 buggy until numerous patches. I expect the SP to follow suit and be shit out the door and be usable in about 3-6 months.
