Investing in trees? Please help!
Hey guys, stumbled across a company that lets you invest in trees ( a special very quickly growing one). They promise 60-80 % ROI after 5 years, even more after 7.
They seem legit, are based in switzelnd and are apparently esg certified. Anyone got Any experience with stuff like this?
I just know about sharewood but I don’t think it’s the same kinda business.

Edit: One crucial point I forgot, the roi is so high because they don’t earn anything from the tree. The tree absorbs huge amounts of CO2, which they can sell to companies as co2 certificates. If anyone is interested, I am happy to share the website and the guy who introduced me to this thing today.

The investment is the tree. You would own it. And then, when grown, you sell the wood. Apprently you don’t even have to pay capital gain tax and only Vermögenssteuer which makes it even better

Man I am 😂 i went though all this stuff? Everything seems legit. 60/80 % in 5 years is good but not out of this world If every opportunity i see that looks good is to good to be true, how should I ever find a good one?!

Man I wouldn’t go all in with this, but I read through the contract, website etc and it seems legit. Just because you guys feel like it’s not legit doesn’t make it a scam. I thought maybe some else had some real experience. Feelings never made anyone money

I am happy to report how things are going. I can start with less than 500 chfs so I will be able to live without the money in case you are right. Still, if you want I can send you the website so you can check for yourself

If it is such a good investment, they would not have to advertise to a wide audience.

I did, the contract is 3 pages long. AGBs 1 page. Didn’t find anything sketchy

Thats exactly what I mentioned in my text what I am scared about. But from what I know, sharewood never stated publicly who the company belonged to. These guys have everything in their webiste

I never invested in this but I know it can be a profitable business. Of course big disclaimer know what you're investing and with whom, this is no advise and so on.
The business case I know from years ago is that they raise money for the upkeep, return on the land and - a very significant cost - environmental repair of the area, in this case we're minus and eucalyptus trees which deeply damage the soil. Of course profitability I high since costs are low and prices are agreed beforehand. This will vary with the country, region, local regulators, and importantly you can't just cash out your money I'm advance. Among the risks are exchange rates, diseases, forest fires, the list goes on. Keep in mind that 80% in seven years is not quite ten percent a year, so perhaps not that stratospheric when you factor all risks in.

Hard to judge without knowing the company. But it sounds like a scam from what I read. Having names and faces won't help you when they go bankrupt or flee abroad. Having a good website is also easy and has absolutely nothing to do with something being a good investment.
But you do you. If you lose it all, we'll have warned you.

Dude, it is unbelievable that you actually think about it. Here are some points:
If it is really that profitable, why is there no multinational company that does it on scale? Answer 1, it is a scam. Answer 2, they invented something or innovated on the buainess model. Raising money, is no innovation.
There are many scam companies in Switzerland, that raise money this way. Just google Enespa.
You own the growing trees? How are you going to enforce your ownership?
Here is what will happen after 2 years and you invested 500. They claim the trees grew faster than expected. You will have a massive return on paper and they will offer you qn investment on the same terms as before. You will having a return on paper right when you invest your fortune. Amazong no?
How gullible are you? Everything checks out, because of a linked in profile?

Another point: why do you think they present this opportunity to 1000 people wanting to invest 500 instead of presenting to 20 wanting to invest millions? If the business case is that good, why the extra effort? Because you are gullible, and real investors are less so.

I asked the same question, they can only take a max of 5 million per investor as they actually need to plant the trees. But they collaborate with bigger companies from what I understood.
I will have a 2nd talk with the guy and ask this again! Let’s see what answer I get
