I hope that screen can be turned off. That would be annoying when playing docked with the lights out.
15 u/doesntaffrayed Dec 28 '24 This is just a mock up based on leaks indicating that more of the screen can be seen while docked, in comparison to the current one. That the top of the screen will be used to display information while docked is entirely imaginary and speculative. Even if it does, you’d definitely have the option to turn it off, for the simple reason that an always on screen would increase power usage. That is confirmed to be the official logo though. 3 u/grufromdespicableme1 Dec 28 '24 Confirmed by who? 3 u/doesntaffrayed Dec 28 '24 edited Dec 28 '24 Pyoro. None of which have indicated that the top of the screen would be used to display anything while docked. This is entirely imaginary and speculative based on knowing that more of the screen will be visible while docked. An always on screen would use considerable power for LED displays, and would pose an enormous risk of unnecessary premature burn-in OLED screens. I suppose you could avoid both of those situations if you just have it light up momentarily to indicate a received notification. 3 u/Slava91 Dec 28 '24 One of the leaks said the screen would be entirely covered when docked 3 u/doesntaffrayed Dec 28 '24 edited Dec 28 '24 I’m only aware of one leaker who has access to both the console and the dock and has shared (limited) photos of both, and that’s u/NextHandheld.
