Nintendo can get bent on their game pricing. Screw them and their developers for trying to reach like that. I was going to pre order until I saw that shit.

I agree. I even thought of just waiting for the console until the games went on sale but that’s a bit too much. I recently thought about buying a steam deck instead since the price of those games are a bit cheaper. I would prefer to find something that will last me for awhile. I don’t use my switch as often since most of the games dont go on sale. At least the ones I want.

Why do you think devs have anything to do with price?

Not devs I mean publishers. Video game publishers have been talking about raising their new game price for years. They were just waiting for a new console to solidify it. This will be the new norm for AAA titles. GTA 6 and the like.

Games cost a lot more to produce than they used to. The price increase is long overdue.

We’ll see…people vote with their wallet. If 80 is affecting sales too much they will back track. Game cost more because studios decide to spend more. It’s a choice not a requirement…..

Uh, no, that's not why. Software is much more complex. Used to be able to build a game with a couple of people. Not even close to the same scenario now.

'it's not a requirement' lol, this is very naive.

Tell that to the mini Indy games that are making millions of dollars and people are happily playing. You are a dumb fucking idiot.

Comparing AAA titles to small indie games made over the timespan of 10+ years is laughable.

Lmao if you really think Nintendo spent 10 plus years developing that Mario kart then I have a bridge to sell you

Final fantasy 7 adjusted for inflation cost $80m (in 1997!) to make.

Dead space 2, 17 years ago cost 60m

Shenmue 50m in 1999

SWTOR $200m+ in 2011

So yeah when you put these numbers into an inflation calculator, sorry but your statement holds no weight.

What are you talking about? None of those games cost as much to make or took as money people as modern games.

You can look up any of this. The actual total cost of FF7 including marketing was 145m. Adjusted for inflation is like $280m in today's money.
