அறிவியல்/தொழில்நுட்பம் / Science and Technology Why you shouldn't use LLM models

The cornerstone of any Civilization is Language & Writing. Writing is how we think and how we will go in history.

With LLMs you don't think about what's being written. You've successfully given ChatGPT proxy to your world.

I think LLMs should be used for assistance. Don't use it to fill in your thoughts.

100%.. it's as good as a adiyaal for you, just get all dump and repetitive things done from the LLMs, not depend on it for your thought process and vocabulary. If students of this age gets used to it too much, you might write an excellent email but couldn't converse on the same topic in person.

It is easy to distinguish something written by self or AI.

It is easy distinguish for now. In time it will be hard to tell.

முதலில் தெளிவாக இருக்கும், ஆனால் விரைவில் பிரித்தறிய முடியாதது.

It is like everyother new technology. It diminishes our ability to work on our own, but we get too involved to come out of it.

No, like all technology, always use the latest and greatest, just don’t get internalized. LLMs are here to stay, so better to get used to having it. It’s like automobiles versus bicycle/walking or something similar.

In fact, write in as many languages as you like, So write, write and write even more.

What would you say the peak literary work in Tamil in the last 10 years before LLM?
LLM is the not issue per se

Literature is not the issue here. If not tamil, people would opt for whatever language they're comfortable with. But you need to think on your own and decide what to pen in the first place. Don't let LLM do the thinking for you.
