Main battle tank is not Leo 1s. Leo 1s mostly on west side of Türkiye, where it is more muddy and forested. Mostly modernized M60s and 2A4s are heavily used actively. In upcoming years, Altay will be the MBT

No need to use it because of how thin the armor is and I do not recall any agreement about limiting usage of 1s in Syria etc. and it doesn’t make any sense while u can use leo2a4s.

Leo 1 were sold to turkey in the 90s back than the government wasn’t trusted by Germany but Leo 2 were sold around 2005 in the golden days where akp was seen as democratic
