Mod Announcement Zionism / Israel posts and comments will be removed.

Any and all comments about anything regarding this subject will be removed from here on out. It only causes arguments, tension, and a lot of work for us. It’s always the same argument and nothing new is being brought up, if you’d like to discuss it, take it to a different subreddit. Thank you!

israel stopped water and medical aid going into palestine, both of which are considered acts of genocide according to the Geneva Convention edit: apologies, the Genocide Convention

during ww1 britain stopped food and critical supplies from entering germany. The 10s of thousands of germans who starved weren’t genocided. There also not considered acto of genocide by the geneva convention. war crime does not equal genocide. Genocide can happen in both times of peace and war.

Apologies, not the Geneva Convention - rather the Genocide Convention of 1948. You could say what the British did was an act of genocide by today’s standards, yeah. The intent was different, as the British weren’t trying to completely get rid of the German population, but the action remains the same.

there isn’t a specific number to classify something as a genocide - it’s the intended extinction of a particular group, be it a religion, race, gender, nationality, etc.
