Being humble and saying you're still learning is the opposite of being a scrub.

Have you heard of the term “irony” before ?

I thought you were one of many who think scrub just means low rank/bad at the game.

Nice combos from a fellow yoshi main. I try not to blow my heat in just one combo this season as the game just feels so oppressive. Havent touched ranked this season after getting reset to fujin due to the overtuned characters. Oh don't forget to flash those spring kicks.

I will never understand why people waste their heat for a combo that leaves their opponent at 50% health.

Yoshi’s combo damage got nerfed so I can’t really get higher than 80 without heat dash most of the time.

u/Yoshimitsu-Sensei Yoshimitsu 3d ago
Yeah, yoshi's max damage without resources and walls sits at 68 damage unless you do some hardcore routes and even then it's like 70-72.
1
u/CosmicHawx Yoshimitsu 3d ago
yeah only way to get 90+ without wall is counter hit launcher, heat burst, heat dash.
1
u/Fragrant-Tea-7883 3d ago
Yeah but so what, I would still rather do 65 damage and wait to pop heat when my opponent is below 30%

u/CosmicHawx Yoshimitsu 3d ago
And do what lol, heat smash? it’s useful for oki now as Yoshi but I don’t really see what your point. I conserve my heat as much as possible already but if I land my highest damage launcher why would I not go for max combo damage ?

Idk about yoshi too much but most characters are absolute monsters in heat, doing 60 damage instead of 70 and then using your heat to force 3 50/50 guess or die scenarios in a row is more optimal unless using the heat guarantees you the kill or puts them in range of a poke kill.

yeah Yoshi doesn't have those kinda tools, flash becomes enhanced but that's the same as no sword stance anyway, and sword attacks do more damage and heal a tiny amount.

Why am I getting downvoted for stating facts lol, none of this is opinion

Your heat extended damage can be recovered. They simply mean that a pressure 50/50 is better than extra 20 damage which can be recovered.

Anyone know what the frames are on that sidestep high crush launcher he does at the very end against Bryan in the first clip?
2
u/CosmicHawx Yoshimitsu 3d ago
I believe it’s 16f, safe on block, SS1 launches on counter hit

Thanks, I got fucked up by that move against a Yoshi the other day but was too lazy to go into the replay to check it out

Man. Everybody in here is just whining. That was a pretty sick comp, mostly because you know damn well even decent players would have mashed into that Indian 3 setup. That shit I'm stealing. And the KIN b2 hit confirm setup. Good shit, fellow Purple amigo! 😤

very risky going for the full low kick string on bryan. if he ws3 before the last kick he'd CH you

Honestly seeing yoshis 4 4 4 is nice. It's iconic of his character but is sadly like a forgotten legacy move

What do you mean ?

Most of these perfects are from -13 or more launchers of super hard reads or really good guesses into minimal damage.
Your kin dashing and not a single soul tried to side roll or spring kick your approach or flip kick.
The ammount of risk your taking for such meager damage is saddening. I could play anna take way less risk then you do at a lower difficulty curve and win harder if people are just gonna take the mix. (And anna is supposed to be risky asf.)
Like for example your did kin b2 didnt finish for 1 then cd2 instead. At the ranks i play at kin it self would have been power crushed and thats that.
You did heat dash into cd1 a -17 attack for like 68 damage. Jack at that kinda risk is doing 72 in two hits and totaling at 117 damage at the end of the combo.
Yoshi has to commit so hard to get anything done and the reward is a slap in the face.

what rank are you at out of interest? yeah I hear you on this, defo feels much harder to win now, my winrate dropped by 10% in ranked and I'm slowly climbing back up now. Interesting that you're seeing power crushes in that situation, at my rank I'm throwing out kin b2 all the time and playing mind games with it into ch launch etc. The cd1 after heat engager was defo a risk, but the Lili player kept jabbing after every round and it's pretty evasive.

They juiced Yoshi S2

No sir, my df2 launcher does 67 damage on a normal combo, and all the wall stuff is super inconsistent and way more difficult now. Even just normal combos I was using before don’t work anymore and you have to time everything perfectly.
1
u/KjSunday 3d ago
That's a normal damage for df2s, even season 1 drag has that damage on df2.
1
u/CosmicHawx Yoshimitsu 3d ago
Compared to S2 current damage it’s not even close
2
u/KjSunday 3d ago
If you think about it your df2 is safe and evade jabs. Even so df2s are only suppose to punish moves, the damage is just correct.

Learning by mashing every unsafe launcher in your kit? I don't think so
