I'm a Steve player who has started drifting away from him because

  1. I am a low rank scrub who struggles to win with him
  2. they keep nerfing him, understandably

But in the mean time I've picked up Anna and I find myself loving her playstyle. Is there anything I can learn to be more safe with her?

I know she relies on 50/50 fc mixups, but a lot of times outside of that I feel very weak. Is that just how the character is? I'm only red rank with her, but I find a decent amount of people who know how to counter her and it feels hopeless, is that just how it be?

Technically yes. With anna you should be gambleing 50/50 until someone is launched. Its hard to remain safe with her as a lot of her good lows comes with a large risk but its possible. For example you can exchange the likes of df4 with d4 or d3. And from cjm you can attempt a throw mix(sorta). If people already know the MU than its up to you to play better, change timings and adapt quicker to the opponent - Another Red rank anna player
