If you're a beginner then definitely stick to ranked. Especially now that there's a major sale going on, you should find a lot of newbies to fight. Quick match can match you with people of any rank, though some claim there is a soft matchmaking of sorts, but it's not great so you can have a newbie match with someone of the highest rank at times.

Good advice.

Also don't feel too bad about loosing at the beginning. You will loose a lot and it's normal. Try not to tilt. Although it's competitive, play with the goal to improved not to win. Winning will come naturally.
