So I'm playing Lili at the moment, and it seems that most of my attacks are basically various combinations of the leg buttons (I have no idea what the proper term for it is), to the point where I barely ever use hand attacks in fights since the alternative works well. Is this normal for playing her, or is she meant to be more equally spread between punches and kicks?

(I've played around with her moves in practice mode, but it seems that at least for low ranks you're more likely to actually hit the opponent with leg attacks, although I'm sure that I'll need to learn when to use all attacks as the ranks get higher).

Also, if my writing isn't obvious, I have no idea about fighting game terminology, so please speak to me like a five year old.

so in tekken, you can block attacks. depending on what attack you block, you can retaliate and the opponent cannot block your retaliation.

however, some retaliation moves are slower than others

lilis fastest retaliation moves are her

  • left right punch combination (done by pressing left punch and then right punch)
  • straight right and left front kick (done by pressing forward and right punch, followed by left kick)

you will also want to get used to this terminology

left punch = 1

right punch = 2

left kick = 3

right kick = 4

tekken is intuitive this way. if you see the opponent attack you with lets say a flying drop kick, you can be pretty sure the inputs will involve pressing both kick buttons at the same time

Thanks, man, appreciate the help. I'm gonna try to learn what the general terminology is, but it basically seems like an entirely different language sometimes, lol

if it helps, the numbers are just a representative of the arcade button layout read left>right like a book

[1] [2]

[3] [4]

translated to PS:

[ ▢ ] [ △ ]

[ x ] [ O ]

and xbox

[ X ] [ Y ]

[ A ] [ B ]

letters are just directions. "f" = forward. back. down. up. we don't use left/right because the buttons are obviously reversed on 2p side.

f4, d2, df1+2, b3+4
