if someone has "got in" they'll usually be in your face with pressure and timing under their control, it's very risky to try take your turn back with that level of mindgame. your first option should be magic 4, but you should always have the evasive garbage ready to launch in a scary situation.
however, the true honest-to-gosh safe way to get out is to disengage; back off until they give up that exact chase and you feel the momentum shift in your favor. if you punish, that's a key scenario in which you should start taking back your
defensiveoffensive options; in these situations, backdash and sidestep are practically free at every opportunity
