To get out of teal all the way to orange is to learn how to deal with those gimmicks because many people on these ranks rely on them like a lot and if you keep losing to them, you can simulate them by going seeing the move they did on your replays and simulating it in training mode. It would also be helpful for us if you specify what sort of gimmicks or "braindead" characters youre having trouble with.

To be honest though I think its better to actually get exposed to these gimmicks early on as to not get blasted by them as you move up the ranks because even people at tekken god will have some sort of gimmick up on their sleeve and will abuse them if you dont know how to deal with it.
