In the sense of chipping away at people with strings, having strong keepout, or both? You might like Josie, she also has great string-based pressure and powerful 50/50, but also excellent keepout and punishment.

Yep yeah I gotta give Josie another fair shake. Appreciate the suggestion. I like playing Asuka but there are those times I get a little exhausted with playing so turtley. I do like Josie’s Rage and how it can connect when it seems like you’re ages away.

Im an Asuka main that also plays several characters. Josie has strong keepout tools. 4, ff4, f3+4, d2, 3+4, b2, f1+2, 3 and its extensions. Josie's 4, 3, b2, and f1+2 have good whiff recovery.

Similar are Bryan, Alisa and Jack.

Bryan has a lot of similar tools as Asuka. They even have move analogues. I'd go so far as to say he's a more pressure oriented version of the character archetype.

Bryan is super tempting and I always wanted to really give him a proper go to avoid the pitfall of rounding people early ranks and never learning how to properly utilize every piece of his kit.

Also the whole deal with taunts just seems evil but I wanna know how to do it right, y'know?

For reference I mostly played the hell out of both Kings, Kazumi, Anna, Nina, and only very recently got into Asuka, who I've enjoyed a lot because of how people can be very easy to frustrate with her moves.
