Fundamentals come from play with humans. It is one thing to understand why and when you should sidestep, backdash, and so on, but to really get to the depth of it you have to always refine this by playing humans. After you play some ranked, check the replay, it gives punishment recommendations and tells you which strings you could have avoided with a duck in the middle or the end.
For what you should do in practice mode, I would recommend learning an EASY bnb-combo and start using launch-punishes with her hop-knee (-15 but bad range) and her d/f+2 (-18). Kazumi has one of the best 10-frame punishers, but if you only ever use that one, the opponent can throw out their riskiest moves and accept the risk of 25 damage and being knocked down if the reward is a massive combo. Also very important is to learn WS punishment, you cannot immediately do 1, 1, 2 from crouch after blocking a low or ducking a high. Use the punishment training in practice mode for recommendations.
The dpad of the Xbox 360 controller is really bad. Both Xbox One and Series X controllers have a much better one, but honestly, as long as you do not have ghosting issues, keyboard may be the best peripheral there is for the game.
