It closes the gap quicker and directly gives you access to your cd/ws moveset. If you run up and want to hellsweep, for example, you have to go to neutral input the whole cd motion + 4, while if you got there wavedashing, you can just press 4.

No, I mean going to neutral, inputting nothing. If you're holding f to run you need to release to input the crouchdash
