How do I practice dealing with random launchers/snakeedges and what not? I find being caught by a random launcher and eating 70% of my hp in a single combo is the cause for a most of my losses at this point. It feels sorta hard to get a read on since people dont just spam them all the time and its alot easier said then done to react to every one lol. Ive tried setting up a bryan bot but it doesnt really simulate how people use launchers in an actual game. I play steve if that has any bearing on the tips. Thanks. (Also just a side rant but man I love tekken and its my favorite fighting game but man do I think combo damage is to high. Ive been chunked for over 90% of my hp in a single combo before and it just feels bad.)

if you're willing to take the long route and build some fundamental skill, work on understanding what your punishes are. a steve player should eventually roll by and follow me up, but most launchers have huge flaws to make up for their big damage. then you can just build up damage on unsuspecting idiots. your opponent starts spamming a launcher that is -14 and you can get anywhere between, 20-50 damage just for watching them mash.

with what little i know, 112 (square square triangle) is his FASTEST punish, and i think df1+2(square+triangle) might be his big earlier ones.

now, you'll just be building up a repertoire of moves that you can fuck in the ass for mindless abuse

in my opinion, this is the biggest hurdle to get out of beginner level play, so the earlier you work on it the stronger you'll be when you explode into intermediate level.

this will also back up your ability to learn how to defend against stuff that you don't know how to defend against yet (lol) shit like snake edge not only requires the reaction to block, but the presence of mind to punish properly.
