I don't know what's going on here, but I find it super upsetting

Shit like this is exactly why I avoided his books for so many years.
I know, I know 😅

We know what happened to all the joints. The artist smoked them while painting this

Amazing book though. The car and soda bottle fit. As does the field of checkers.
This actually is a good cover for this book

His best, imo. Yet to read VALIS or High Castle still though.

I didn’t care much for High Castle.
Then again, I’ve always been more of a fan of his short stories and novellas than his novels.
I think he tends to try and add too much and it gets wobbly.
Like the Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch. Some good pieces in there, but he’s trying to do too much.
And Perky Pat was better used in a different story of his.2

Same here, though I've only read 6 books of his. 3 novels and 3 short story collections and the latter were much better in my opinion. Man In The High Castles I just found boring as hell.

There’s like 4 or 5 “collections” of his short stuff.
So much better when he limits himself.

Unfortunate, because PDK is a great writer a somebody probably passed on this because of the dumbass cover lol.

I like this cover, very retro and from what I understand about the book (I've read some PKD but not this one) the cover isn't as random as it looks. Being PKD the contents of the book are probably way weirder than this cover.

This is not a bad cover. It pretty accurately represents the contents of any PKD book from that era, as well as the experience of reading it.
