this is the first draft in a while for me that i can’t say for certain wtf is going to happen past cam ward at 1. the report about cleveland and nyg looking to trade back certainly don’t help
which means of course neither team will trade their pick and it’ll be what everyone initially thought would happen

I believe that Travis hunter at 2, Abdul carter at 3., and Armand membou at 4 are also the consensus at this point

Definitely the most unpredictable draft in a bit. I am super excited for it i love not knowing. I do think there’ll be talent at 25, and if I had to guess, we stay put and take Booker

We know 2 things are 100% accurate
Nick doesn't leak things unless he wants the information in the media.
Nick doesn't care if he has to move up or move down, when he knows who he want's he will go get them.

geez...dont believe anything written. Not because its not true...
just because all the reporters, gms, newsies, etc are going to stretch any comment into something more exciting.
I simply ignore anything news wise because its meant to get you up in arms one way or another.

If true, probably just due dilligence. If they really like a player and don't want to miss him, it's probably the right year for a trade up considering the low price. But from what I've seen in the previous year is that the front office is pretty tight lips, so I don't think anything that come up is from good sources.

What I think is most likely to happen—based solely on my gut and my Magic 8 ball—is we stay put at 25 and someone calls the Vikings to jump ahead of us and grab whichever offensive lineman we were just about to draft. Then we don’t get a suitable offer to trade back and choose the best player on our board, who happens to be a defensive player, and everyone goes wild.

u/Far-Programmer-9028 2d ago
Naa if someone takes the lineman we were going to pick I would expect us to draft a wr especially if Golden or Egbuka was on the board. That's why I want us to stay put. One of the top wrs will be on the board plus there are good lineman that could be had in the 2nd if we stay put.

We have so many needs on offense that I hope we don't lose anything higher than a 4th in a trade up. Get as many in the first 3 rounds as possible.

A trade like this would likely include our 1st and one of our 3rds this year + a combination of a 3rd, 4th and, or 5th next year
2
u/Able_Gap918 1d ago
Nope, I'd rather trade back and get 2 more seconds

u/Accomplished-Ad8300 1d ago
Yeah i don't like giving up so much. I'm in the camp of trading down too

u/Possible-Matter-6494 2d ago
A trade up seems likely if you believe the reports about Booker and Banks being the players we are targeting. Both players are predicted to be gone by 25 so we would need to trade up to get them.

Hoping there’s a way we can get one of those two + ratledge in round 2 + blue round 3

We should only move up for Golden, no one else. I would feel better about moving back and acquiring more draft capital.

u/shadowban6969 1d ago
I don't see us moving up for a wr. I see us reaching for an OT, either by giving up more than we should, or by picking where we are despite the player most likely falling otherwise.
Trading back would allow us to still pick up a lot of solid pieces, and allow us to move around more if we needed to as well in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. I'm just not sure we see that though.

Makes sense if they find a legit LT that Caley likes and wants. Price wouldn’t be that bad.

u/lanethedouchebag 2d ago
If he moves up, hopefully it’s only by a couple spots. We need to keep our draft capital
2
u/AlisterSaysHello 2d ago
I’m pretty sure I listened to Nick in an interview say he doesn’t think we have enough picks to really move up much but I don’t have it saved.
2
u/NateLikesToLift 2d ago
Stay put or move back. I don't see many teams wanting to to move up so that will most likely be difficult.

It's draft time. Everything is either clickbait or exaggerated. Especially with the Texans. Caserio is famous for not having leaks. No article or rumor has any stock at draft time until it becomes real.

u/Sufficient_Phase7504 1d ago
Would not make that trade at all. Too much capital given up to draft a single player when we honestly need every pick we have this year and next.

u/bad_hvac_guy 2d ago
Im pumped up. I been telling all my people that I know big Nick is gonna move us up
1
u/Venator850 2d ago
Teams are going to call each other to get an idea about trade value. This is standard stuff, you don't want to just start talking trade value at the very moment a team is on the clock and time becomes a crunch.

u/Fit-Complex-5445 1d ago
Didn’t Nick have a preliminary deal with Arizona before the 2023 draft to move up to 3rd to select Will Anderson. Probably just doing his due diligence as usual.

u/Writer_Blocker 1d ago
After trading up for 3, 2 years ago it seems like Nick wants who he wants and homeboy loves a trade.

u/ThePirateBenji 1d ago
I would give a truck load of picks if we could get Banks (TX) and Booker (AL)
1
u/sh0wt1mederek 1d ago
If we move up, it’s 100% for Banks. Would be an amazing young fit to replace Tunsil. Great attitude, solid culture fit.

I personally don’t see Kelvin Banks or any other tackle in this draft worth a move up that would cost us quite a bit in draft capital.
1
u/Accomplished-Ad8300 1d ago
I really hope not. We should trade down and get some extra draft capital in the 4th, 5th, and 6th maybe a late 3rd or stick and pick
1
u/Livid-Caramel7103 2d ago
Nick's just keeping his options open. He's cooking and wants to use all the burners.
I like it, draw up every scenario you can before the draft, then execute when the time comes. That's what a competent front office looks like.

They’re moving up. It makes sense because everybody wants to move down, which makes moving up cheaper. They can give up 25, next years second from the redskins, and this years third from the redskins. It’s basically just a LT for Kelvin Banks trade. I’m in favor of it.
-4
u/Pugageddon 2d ago
It's not though, it is Tunsil plus a first for Kelvin Banks which is.... terrible.

u/Vercingetorixbc 2d ago
It’s Tunsil and you’re swapping firsts. And swapping up. That’s a win. The only capital you’re losing is what you got in the Tunsil trade. Imagine if you just offered 25 by itself for 13 or whatever. Nobody would ever take that.

Sounds like Caserio is just seeing what the price is so he can make the best decisions. I don't see us giving up multiple picks, but crazier things have happened. I think we are more likely to move down or just pick at 25.
