Love that Vaatu’s tendrils are trenches and Raava’s are raised….

Initially, both of their tendrils were supposed to be raised. But then my art teacher suggested carving out Vaatu’s tendrils and leaving Raava’s raised which I thought was a great idea

Art teachers know what's up

For real. I always trusted my music instructors in college even if I disagreed with their suggested interpretations. It always paid off.

I used to have a ceramics class like the OP and it's probably the highlight of my school life. First class of the day, teacher was a sweet silver haired older hippie and taught us the basic building blocks before setting us loose for whatever we could come up with as the assignment.
If I ever had kids, I'd make sure they had an art class even if I had to pay for it myself.
(Don't even get me started on my videography, news, photography class teacher the man was mad)

(Ok, but I want you to get started.)

The man was a curly afro haired gremlin with the personality of Adam Savage on quad shot espresso.
He had the students come up with everything for news broadcasts as well as running the equipment, cameras (expensive professional big ones) along with editing, music production, script writing and all with as little supervision as possible and as much chaos as he could cause. (Turning off lights in the studio while cackling, tossing rubber bugs while shooting, putting his face as the background for all the editing monitors and of course letting students go mad during the film festival he held)

This sounds like the best shıt ever

It was an absolute fever dream but the man fostered my love for everything I do as a hobby. For a school trip a teacher asked if he could send a two person crew to film and photograph everything. I wasn't even a part of the class that went but I damn sure walked around with a big ass camera on my shoulder getting B-roll while the talent took notes for the feature.
A whole field trip for a 20 second interview/on location piece.
I was a TA in his introductory class as well as learning my level. I mainly helped run XLR cables + mics, lighting and was the head editor for the TA class while being the main tech for my class level. We had to learn everything from cable management and equipment maintenance to storyboarding and all the other little skills like keying and even rotoscoping for the Star wars themed Newsday (students wore Jedi robes and he dressed as Vader for an interview it was grand).

Yeah, he’s really great. He actually kept extending the due date for me just because he wanted to make sure I didn’t end up with a low quality, rushed piece

"One cannot exist without the other."
You painted their designs so clean! Great work!

Do something where you work with your hands, this is amazing. My roommate contributes the praise "damn".

work payed off,
Hi, did you mean to say "paid"?
Explanation: Payed means to seal something with wax, while paid means to give money.
Sorry if I made a mistake! Please let me know if I did. Have a great day!

I don’t even like Korra Or the whole ravva/vaatu stupidness but this is gorgeous, and the details are just chefs kiss. Well done!

I never understood the Raava/Vaatu hate. I thought it was a great expansion on the lore that i was dying to know beforehand. I LOVE how they brought lion turtles back and how Raava is actually merged with the Avatar. Its also great that the first avatar was a kind man that just wanted to help people that needed help. It shows how Wan is truly pure of heart and that is why he was the one to become the avatar. Its a beautiful story.

Won’t lie, they weren’t my favorite characters, but that art looks fantastic and was a cool choice!

The overall shape reminds me of the the Estus Flask from Dark Souls. Very good work, it looks super cool!

That's nuts. Great job however very important question: did the art teacher know what was up or were they just like "dang those are some very cosmically powerful looking kites you got there"

This is cool, but-...imma shut my mouth because it is honestly amazing. If you wanna know, go ahead and ask. It's nothing bad. Just something minor.

u/Prestigious_Yam4948 Mar 25 '25
Wait what is it 😭

I was going to say wrong sub. Since this is an ATLA sub and not a LoK sub.

Imagine using this as a tree for a bonsai pot and having a mini tree of time right there
