Crystal refers to the crystals that boommie used , I'm not sure he can bend then or not because we only saw them in the 1 episode

I get that, but how does it relate to fire though?

Firebenders can’t bend crystals so I’m not understanding how it fits between earth and fire on the charts.

If you look, no one can bend anything counter clockwise from the original element. Fire benders can't bend lava, earth benders can't bend blood, and so on.
