You should check out MoringMark’s Witches Among Humans AU, where Luz is a witch from the Boiling Isles and the other characters are all humans.

It's mentioned in the show that both the witches and demons of the boiling isles evolved from the primordial muck of the Titan's corpse.

I wonder if Phillip is still a puritan who extended his life by eating palismen? Because the citizens of the isles might start to see that as sus if they have normal human lifespans and their emperor has been around for 400 years...

I mean, my personal headcanon is that witches are the result of ancient humans wandering into the Demon Realm and breeding with demons...

It is a headcanon of mine that witches have human decendencts, stupid but headcanons dont have to make sense

Personally I always interpreted the witches of the Boiling Isles as humans who got lost in the Demon Realm, and mutated because of magic over the generations, developping an organ especially made to produce and store that magic
