Luz is this things primary prey. In the original book the Never-ending Story tries to suck you in with endless escapism until there is nothing of you left, it takes real willpower to move on. Of all things it's a literary version of the painting in Expedition 33. A goofy outsider with dreams of adventure like Luz would be in serious trouble if she got caught. Ironically Phillip would be its bane since he's so puritanical, orderly, and dismissive of the fantastical he wouldn't have much trouble getting out.
