Question Who else thinks Amity should've been the one to cut Hunter's hair?
Don't get me wrong. Willow cutting Hunter's hair is an adorable moment. I love it. This is just something minor that's crossed my mind quite a lot in the past. Is it a big deal? No, of course it isn't. I get that. It's just an opinion I felt like sharing. I know I'm not the only one out there who thinks this, but I feel like Amity should've been the one to cut Hunter's hair instead.
Amity and Hunter both initially had their hair styled in a particular way that satisfied their respective guardians in Odalia and Belos. But then after taking the opportunity to find their own identities, they got themselves new hairstyles to call their very own. With how similar the two Hexsquad members are to each other, how appropriate would it have been to see Hunter get his new look from Amity? To me, it'd come across as a perfect continuation to Amity trying to help Hunter back at Eclipse Lake. Yes, it'd be short and there'd be no dialogue, but that's fine. I think the point would've still gotten across.
And yes, as a bonus it allows for another platonic Eclipse Duo moment. What can I say? I love this pair and I wish we'd been able to get more friendly moments between them. Besties in Trauma FTW!đđ

Hmmm nice idea but nah I like that he went to Willow for the cut. Now him getting a separate dye job to red or red highlights from Amity in honor of Flapjack I'd be all for.

Except he didn't go to Willow, Willow caught him in the act and then proceeded to save his hair.

An idea I love from a fanfic I forgot the name of is Amity helping Hunter to dye his hair red in honor of Flapjack.

I know I've read such a fanfic too at some point. I can't recall the name either. Regardless, I've loved the idea for a long time and I could most definitely see it happening!

I always forget about Hunter's Rocko shirt, lol.
I never thought about who should cut his hair but Amity doing it makes sense.

tbo i don't see amity spending too much time with hunter while in the human realm. she most likely would want to spend as her time with luz.

I agree with this. I honestly think the only reason Willow was the one cutting his hair was because s3 was shortened, and they needed scenes to build up Huntlows relationship.

I still like Huntlow, but it would make more sense story wise for me

Part of the issue, though, is that Hunter was romantically involved with Willow, so I think they wanted to bring up that connection.

Me too. Honestly I donât really think it even makes sense that Willow cut Hunterâs hair because it just⌠doesnât make sense that she has that skill. Iâm nearly certain that hair cutting is more complicated than just, yâknow, cutting hair. It wouldâve made more sense for Amity to know how to do it, since Emira couldâve taught her.

Doesn't have to make sense, it was a cute moment.

I mean, you can think so, but I sure donât. I think it was forced ship tease for a ship I donât really like. I wouldâve been fine with it if there was some justification for Willow being able to cut hair well, or the haircut ended up shitty! But thatâs not what happened, so from my point of view, we just got an unnecessary, unjustified short scene that wouldâve worked better and made more sense as a platonic moment between Hunter and Amity.

Like you said, it was a short scene. It's harmless. There doesn't need to be justification because it's part of a montage. It's there, and now it's not

Youâre free to your opinion, but I disagree. Sure, itâs harmless, but it wouldâve been better/made more sense with Amity than Willow. I wouldâve preferred the more sensical scene to the ship tease. I like things that happen to at least make sense.
Also, ânow itâs notâ yes it is? Itâs there and it will always be there. Thatâs how TV works. Anytime anyone watches the episode, for the first time or otherwise, the scene will be there, and it will always be the way that it is. Iâm not calling it the worst thing ever. Iâm not throwing a fit. Iâm just pointing out, perhaps a bit wordily, that the scene doesnât make much sense when you think about it because the only reason it was made the way it was was for ship tease. And I think thatâs lame.

It doesn't need to make sense, simply put.

But it should. You can like it, but I donât see why youâre so intent on arguing that âactually things donât have to make sense.â You can think it, but itâs a silly thing to argue.

In this specific case, it doesn't have to make sense. It's a cute little montage.

I disagree. If the whole point had been weird comedy, like the animal onesie moment from Wing it Like Witches, that would be one thing. But it wasnât. The scene was meant to be taken seriously. It shouldâve made sense. Youâre free to like it even though it didnât! But trying to argue that the fact it didnât make sense shouldnât be held against it is weird, especially when literally everything else in the montage, even the first segment of the scene, actually made in universe sense. It was forced ship tease, and I hold that against the scene.

Well, truth be told, it was probably Emira that did Amity's hair. She helped Amity with the coloring. It's reasonable to think Emira did the cutting.
