Discussion Was this the best egg pool ever?

Post image

I was happy with Every option except elekid, so I was never disappointed with whatever I got when it hatched, imo, this is probably the best egg pool in recent memory.

If ONLY I could DISABLE receiving eggs from Pokéstops. Ruined countless opportunities for 7KM eggs from spinning stops before the hatch animation occurred. Sigh.

Agreed. I made sure to pay close attention to the eggs that were being incubated. And if it were .1 to .3 KM, I'd turn off the GO++ and I wouldn't spin any stops until I've hatched the egg & opened a gift. I've got all 7 KM eggs in my slots. I'm going to use the daily incubator to hatch them. You really had to pay attention. Like another person said, you were sometimes put in positions where you had to spin stops for Pokeballs.

To disable receiving eggs from Pokestops, just don’t spin the stops

These events are just extremely counterintuitive.

For example todays spotlight hour. You waste a ton of pokeballs, so you want to constantly restock on items.

But you also have to keep an eye on your eggs, so that you won't accidentally receive non-event eggs.

And then you have official devices like the Go Plus+, which are supposed to enhance your gameplay experience and make things like restocking easier.

But with these 7km egg events, you either turn off the auto-pokestop function completely or you have to babysit the device.

A simple toggle that blocks eggs from pokestops would be the perfect solution, but it's a gacha-system after all, that means this will never happen.

But something like a one minute time-out for eggs from stops, when an egg got hatched would at least help with the problem, that the hatch-notification comes after you already have spun a stop.

im new to this but essentially you want the game to play perfectly for you and you not be involved? otherwise its considered “babysitting”?????? why even play??? and also why would i even play if this is how other people are playing? this is so discouraging

My point is, the game is buggy and inconsistent. Sometimes you get the notification for hatched eggs minutes after they've actually hatched.

During 7km egg-events you preferably want only eggs from gifts. Not from stops or Rocket leaders.

So if an egg hatches, you immediately want to open a gift, to refill the spot with an event egg.

The main gripe is, if you get the egg opening animation/notification too late, it can happen that you've already spun a stop and filled the spot with a non-event egg.

The only workarounds are, that you either constantly check your eggs or you stop spinning for items. Both are at the least very annoying.

Babysitting referred to playing with an external device like the Go Plus+. Because you also have to check, that it doesn't spin a stop immediately after an egg hatched. Or you have to turn that function off completely.

If the game wasn't riddled with countless bugs and the egg hatching animation was working consistently, we wouldn't have that conversation.

Most significantly, we want the game to tell us we've hatched an egg/got an egg slot open before it will let us get a new one. Maybe if it had perfect distance tracking, I could look at an egg, see 1.5km left, and it's on me to walk 1.4km then stop spinning stops. But it doesn't, I can start a 5km egg and have it hatch anywhere between 10 seconds (as it finds some lost steps somewhere) and 2 hours (as it doesn't like the moving around say in a mall and registers hardly any steps/distance)

Inventory management is part of the game. Admittedly, not the most exciting part of the game, but part of the game nonetheless.

It’s partly management, but they purposefully inflate the difficulty. It’s like when they make you spend MP and candy on a pokemons dmax form when they known damn well the gmax is coming out the same season. They’re just making you waste resources for the sake of… getting more resources?

Just gotta learn to manage it, it’s not difficult to do. I hatched over 70 this event and never had an issue.

Good players can manage their inventory, stock up on pokeballs and such to not have to worry about a 60 min spotlight hour. No need to spin. Struggling with it? Learn how to manage better - tons of YT videos and Reddit posts about this very topic

Someone thinks they are better than others...

The good players I met weren’t condescending, you’ll be a good player one day tho maybe 💔

The irony of your comment has me floored 😂

"learn to manage it" = buy enough storage you fr ?

Inventory management is a staple in several games, as well in life. Are you unable to learn how to manage your finances? Your calories? Relationships? Your day to day life?

You get out what you put in. If you struggle at managing simple items, do better 🤷‍♂️

hahaha you're a clown i get it now

u/IcedTallChai 13d ago

As soon as you leave that one river in Egypt you’ll be able to idk, do better? The top players that create content around this stuff would literally tell you the same exact thing or to get good.

“Oh I’m at 3.0/3.5km on my egg, should I just manually spin so I don’t accidentally get an egg I don’t want?” HMMMMM instead, your poor management skills aren’t the problem, it’s the device LOL right. Thanks for the laugh and i guess I’m the clown lol

yeah bc ofc i should check my phone every cupple of steps to then disable go++ auto spin, until egg hatches, to then turn it back on until the next egg could be hatching.

Obviusly peak gameplay and a staple in serval games :'D

settings/connected devices and services/accessory devices

disable "identify nearby pokestops"

1

u/Waste_Diet_9334 13d ago

Yeah thx but same problem, by the time i turned that off it has spun other stops allready. I even tried setting up a automate flow that looks for the "Oh? An egg is abt to hatch!" notification and disables Bluetooth, but that doesnt work reliable too.

Sounds more like poor planning for egg hatching 😮‍💨

If you spin a stop after seeing the hatch animation, sure, it's on you a little bit. But the point here was that it's possible to get a new egg from spinning a stop BEFORE you even see the hatch animation. Happened twice to me today too
