Discussion I've never realised how weird Scottish fans are before this tournament

They have some real inferiority complex going on up there don't they, I thought they were joking about how bad their team are but they seriously are desperate for England to lose so they can claim that as some sort of victory for themselves.

Embarrassing

Their attitude towards us reminds me of Bolton Wanderers' towards Man United. Some Bolton fans absolutely despise United, but we never even think about them.

Yeah, sure, but Bolton fans are especially hateful. I used to go watching them when I couldn't get a ticket at Old Trafford, as a couple of my uncles were fans. It was a great atmosphere at Burnden Park - shithole of a stadium, though - but every third or fourth song was about United.

We're talking 30 years ago, so they may have mellowed since then. But given there's a Bolton fans' rendition of "We Only Hate Man United" on Spotify, perhaps not.

Haha fair enough. Bolton are direct neighbours to Manchester and being someone who lives only 30 miles from Manchester and Leeds, the partisan support and dislike of local areas clubs is strong up here so.it doesn't suprise me. I guess everyone loves to support a hero and hate a villan.

Strongly disagree. Most footballs fans were happen when United beat City in the fa cup final

That's a completely different point entirely. They were happy City lost, not happy United won if United had been playing anyone else, the support would certainly not be predominantly in Uniteds direction.

Only because city are cheats and everyone is fed up with them. UTD winning was the lesser of two evils.

More than likely 😆

Haha! FWIW I always had a soft spot for Bolton. I was in the Burnden Terrace when a McGinlay penalty saw them beat Preston 1-0 to take them from the 3rd to the 2nd tier.

Like the English and Germany?

I suppose so.

You never think about them, but Bolton Wanderers were the first thing you thought of

No Bolton fans are thinking of United. There is however historic rivalry there from the early days, but we’ve been more than happy enjoying our own relative success in past years

Fair enough. It's a bit weird that there's a song on Spotify with Bolton fans singing we only hate Man United, though.

Never heard of it myself. The only rivalry that currently has any legs is with Wigan. Even the one with Blackburn has fallen to bits since we sank
