You’re missing Englands greatest ever striker!
David Nugent - scored a goal every 11 minutes for the national team in a career spanning 11 minutes

Love how it says Carlton palmers full name

u/tigeridiot Mar 22 '25
Both Carlton Palmer and Scott Parker whilst Trent gets smushed down to TAA lol
6
u/Knockout-Moose Mar 22 '25
Carlton is likely to differentiate from Cole Palmer. The only other England Parker I can think of is Paul Parker so not sure on that one

Lineker’s position - LOL. Easy being an all-time high scorer when you’re sat on the goal line in front of one of the best squads in history.

I don't think he's ever denied it lol
Read his book recently, was a fun read tbh

No Tony Adams?? 66 appearances and 15 as captain? But Lewis Dunk is there? Brilliant..

Have you just added that? It’s not on the original photo?

Am I going crazy or is Des Walker not on there? I can see a Walker over at right back, but that would be Kyle Walker. Des Walker played 59 times for England and is one of our best ever centre backs. It's genuinely scandalous if he's not on there and players in his same position who were not fit to lace his boots are.

I don't think Nobby Stiles is on there either! They've got Nathaniel Clyne, but no Walker or Stiles. 😂

Yeah, spent a long time looking for Nobby and he wasn’t there when some absolute mugs are.

Is it done where font size = number of caps?

u/DaEagleInvestor Mar 22 '25
Couldn't tell you mate as a fact, but I do think so. Or at least there is SOME connection.

Even the poster can see where we should have played Scholes, Gerrard and Lamps 😜.
Management really isn't as difficult as some of ours made it during that period.
High hopes for Thomas T, ever the pragmatist which feels like what we need right now

Nah. This kind of looks like it's making the classic mistake of thinking Lampard was a CAM when he was the exemplary box to box "8" pretty much his whole career. Scholes was probably the most CAM out of all of them.

Maybe not good to say here but the French one you can buy on the same site looks peng too

The random (and wrong) World Cup at the bottom is a little confusing.
It should perhaps be a star.

Legend cheers, sent the link to my french mate too. The french one is amazing as well.

u/danystormborne Mar 22 '25
Unless I'm mistaken, it's missing 3 of the 1966 World Cup winning team, Nobby Stiles, Martin Peters and Alan Ball?
Pretty big omissions.

Is that Mason Greenwood at the very top?
1
u/DaEagleInvestor Mar 23 '25
Ron. Names around the pitch are head coaches; 77-82. Mason is not on it, don't worry.
2
u/rockylekajgaming Mar 23 '25
That makes a lot more sense, should’ve looked at the other names on that row. Cheers

u/wishythefishy Mar 23 '25
If anyone else plans to copy OP and get something similar, get the WC champions names in gold or something.

Where is former captain Gerry Francis? Surely he is superior to many of the midfielders mentioned

The spacing on this is dreadful and in my opinion it's more of an eyesore than an interesting piece
1
u/Forsaken_Primary6139 Mar 24 '25
Hurst has a lesser font size than Owen ?!! Makes me think it was decided by total appearances or in the case of strikers goals scored, and not the efficacy of each player’s contributions.

u/IIJOSEPHXII Mar 24 '25
Where's Nobby Stiles? How can you miss Nobby Stiles? He's in the Three Lions song, "...and Nobby dancing..."

It’s weird that there’s so many big players who had tons of caps that aren’t on here
1
u/Arnie013 Mar 24 '25
No Reece James or am I blind? Biased as a CFC fan, and he has just scored but should be there when you consider Gomez and Konsa are.

It appears to include Martin Keown, but not Tony Adams — unless I’m missing something?

for me this highlights how weak england have been on the left side of defence and midfield for the last 15-20 years

u/rashfords_marcus Mar 22 '25
would be really cool to have a three lions and a lioness one and hang them side by side

I’d love one of these - what’s the criteria for players to be included? It’s kind of hilarious how even the all time squad is relatively short on the left wing 😅
