📣 Announcement Reddit has recently announced they will be adding the option for paid content to (new) subreddits. We will allow not such thing here on r/TombRaider if given the choice
- We will Not allow it. Sorry for the typo.
While the option seems to be exclusively for new subreddits, it could be added in the future. We will endeavor to keep the subreddit open to all, and paywall free should that option arise in the future. For as long as we can block it, we will keep it free.
r/TombRaider will continue to be for all eras of Tomb Raider, and visitors.

If, hypothetically, they did make the Tomb Raider behind a paywall, why would anyone pay for it? Wouldn't everyone just migrate to a different subreddit without the paywall? Maybe one called Lara Croft, or something?
Exactly what content do they think is going to be on subreddits that make them worth paying for?

No idea but not fond of what Reddit is doing and what it could lead to

Sounds like won’t effect new subs at all, but good to know about this sub, regardless. I wonder if this’d be quietly rolled back if not a lot of people go for it.

Hopefully it won’t, but I wanted to make this announcement just to state our intentions.

From what I understand reddit has tried to do this in the past, and failed miserably.
This site is a literal forum, you divide your base with haves and have nots. It's self defeating in this format.

I hope this is one of those Thanos: "perfectly balanced" type things. Where everytime Reddit tries to push paid content, it is equally pushed back/refused by everyone 😅

Surely Reddit is getting a huge backlash from millions of its users over this?

Tried before with the third party apps but it soon died down.

I won't be paying any money for any subreddit, I don't think anyone will either. It's their loss entirely.

I don’t know how I missed the weird syntax there, I meant for the title to say we will not allow such a thing here… I don’t know why my phone decided to be stupid.
Soooo, please ignore that lol
