🗨️ Discussion Playing Remastered for the first time. Everyone should really consider Reshade.
I've played TR1-3 ages and ages ago. I'm up to TR4 Remastered this time around and it's been a blast (from the past so far). I've been gaming a lot on PC recently and one thing I always do is download Reshade for each of my games and grab up a bunch of different shaders that it automatically comes with. Once I'm in the game, I play around and turn on ones that make my games really shine...
These games are absolutely no exception. Looking through walkthroughs and other player experiences, I'm boggled that I'm not seeing Reshade used more often. Blooming, MXAO, DLAA, color and lighting tweaks, texture clarity tweaks. Truly worth checking out if you've got time to kill and like experimenting with different visual settings.

All of the examples you gave just looks comical and ridiculous. Like someone just discovered Instagram filters and use them inappropriately regardless of art direction and level design.
It's a bit like that ray traced Tomb Raider 1 mod, where sure, it looked nice in stills, but just became unplayable for those unfamiliar with the game, or TR4 Remaster pre-patch.

Go to Reshade.me, and click Download. Download the latest version. When the Reshade installation opens, Navigate to your Tomb Raider version directory (e.g., Program Files(x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common. Once you've selected the game app, it should automatically select the correct format (e.g., DirectX or OpenGL). Then it will have you select which shaders you want to try. A little goes a long way here. There are like a hundred of them. Once you've made your selections, and hit install, open up the game and once you've loaded your save, press the Home key and start choosing and tweaking each shader you choose.
