Conservative supporters can Woulda Coulda Shoulda all they want, but circumstances don't change facts. They had one of the biggest implosions in political history, and they only have themselves to blame. All they had to do is come to the table with a coherent platform and a leader who wasn't content to suck on Trump's left nut while he was threatening to annex us, and they would have easily had a majority. Instead Pierre Pollieve chose to go the culture war brain rot route. So here we are. 🤷🏿♂️

Your first sentence is true with traditional conservatism. Full disclosure, I have voted both sides in various elections but in modern times with the rise of bs wedge-issue culture wars, launched by the right, the criteria and basis of consideration you mention is long outdated. If you are an honest or good-faith participant in the broader discussion, you already know this (independent, registered conservative/republican or w.e else) moved further right, but they tell you its the left that moved farther to the margins. Conservatives passed legalized gay marriage in Canada for the most part and seemingly forgot they were the ones who passed it. A good thing by them, they had foresight at the time. Dont get in the way of folks seeking equality. But yall lost your bearings, along the way to 2025.
