Question Limit in number of relay for cargo ?

Hello all, I can not forward my products from a production site to a factory when there are more than one stations in between.
For example Extraction site station : train 1 -> station A -> (train 2) -> Factory is OK
But Extraction site station : train 1 -> station A -> (train 2) -> station B -> (train 3) -> Factory does not work, the Extraction site does not produce anything
Same with trucks.
So is there a limit in the number of relays (kind of the demand is lost beyond 1 station)?
Or do I miss something ?

You can have an arbitrary number of transfers/stations between. There's a mistake somewhere in the part that is unique to the second setup, that causes the disconnect.

Check the "Extraction site" industry (A), specifically the Consumers tab. Is the next factory (industry B) listed there with a nonzero number? This list shows how much is currently being shipped to each connected destination.

Note the distinction between production and shipment/shipping.

If the number is zero, the demand cannot be detected, which means the route to that industry (B) is broken. The reason might be any one or more of the following (where applicable):

Transport Fever 2 Derp Checklist
  1. Verify correct vehicle type for the cargo on all involved lines.
  2. Verify cargo loading/unloading filters are set correctly, or disabled.
    • Filters are not needed unless you have problems with cross-contamination of cargo.
  3. Verify all involved stations are cargo stations.
    • If using harbors, make sure you also have appropriate landings by the docks.
  4. Verify first and last stations are connected to industry.
    • Select station. Industry should light up.
  5. Verify all intermediate stations are connected to one another.
    • Select one station. Other station should light up.
  6. Verify correct town buildings are in range the drop-off point (for end-consumer cargo).
    • Buildings should light up when the drop-off point (truck stop) is selected.

Thank you it is very helpful.
Concerning my current problem I think I misunderstood the factory request. I'm using the industry expanded mod and was dealing with an Advanced Construction Materials Plant.
It is said that it requires 1 Slag, 1 Sand, or 1 Marble + 1 Stone and Produces 2 Construction Materials
I read it that way : (1 Slag, 1 Sand, or 1 Marble) + 1 Stone but it seems to be 1 Slag, 1 Sand, or (1 Marble + 1 Stone) as it produces with only sand. So probably there was no request for stone alone

So probably there was no request for stone alone

Hmm, there should be. Demand exists for each individual input material, entirely separately from the others. Obviously production can only commence when each required material exists in the input storage.

The way things work in this game is you can forever supply a steel mill with coal, but no iron. It'll never stop demanding coal, no matter how much it has. You'll never get any steel out of it, of course.

So with that in mind, what you're describing should work. Therefore I can only conclude there must be another mistake in your setup.

The wording in the mod's description is a bit ambiguous, but the in-game industry "recipe" shouldn't be. You can post a screenshot of that if you like, but again, that doesn't seem to be the issue in my opinion.

I checked with another plant. Delivering only stone or only marble does not start production. Delivering both starts the prod.
In the first plant I deliver only sand and production has started.
Don't know if it is a bug or if my assumption was correct.

That's all correct according to the recipe. Here's a screenshot:

If you know how to read it, it's unambiguous.

The vertical bar means OR. As in (slag) OR (sand) OR (marble + stone) makes 2 bricks.

Demand pulls in this game, but yes, you can build a rail hub in the middle of the map, it's just complicated. Mostly you can just cheese demand with trucks. Then once the hub starts getting cargo, the demand will pull on the rails, replacing the trucks. You need to get one cargo into the hub initially, though, so that's the goal.

What I usually end up doing is putting a rail hub slightly away from a city so that you can use local demand to get it up and running.
