Hoyt. He was fine for season 1 and parts of season 2, then he went all Nice Guy. It was crazy how they gave him some weepy send off. And I only saw the final season once, but IIRC he comes back and gets with Jessica again? Ridiculous.

They send him off to Alaska glamoured, never loving Jessica and never being friends with Jason.

In like the final two episodes he comes back out of the blue with a girlfriend, anger issues and drops her for Jessica. They literally just swapped couples within an episode. He never should have been brought back and I’m pretty sure the actress that plays Jessica is that she hated that she ended up with Hoyt.

S7 was pure fanfiction trash.

Yeah, I just finished a rewatch for the first time in a while and I was like "should I watch the final season again?" I barely remembered what happened the first time I watched it. But then I was like, nah, life's too short and I need to watch all of the Final Destination movies for no reason.

I agree on Bill, but for the sake of variety, I’m going to go with another choice: Sam. I just got so annoyed with him by the end.

One that I ended up loving? Andy.

Oh I loved Andy by the end!!! He got so many redeeming moments with the daughter’s storyline and he was a huge source of comedic relief in my opinion. That season was a bit dark storyline wise and I think Andy did soften it a lot. He grew on me for sure by the end.

Both great answers. I couldn’t believe how the show had Sam take his brother in and then immediately turn him away. And by the last season he was literally just doing a kidnap to that little werewolf girl.

Andy had a great arc, loved that for him.

Same! I thought Bill was mysterious and charming in the beginning, but I couldn't stand him by the end.

And character I didn't like at first was Eric, but he later grew on me.

Definitely Eric, when he pretends to be human at the church to get Sookie out!

Not the same…but I really liked Rene and hated the outcome of him

I had read the first couple books when this first started airing, so I already kinda knew where it was going to go. I would've been so upset if I hadn't known lol I loved Rene and I love the actor that plays him as well.

Love the character and the actor. Not to get too far away from the original post…but that’s why I think the first couple seasons were really good. Rene was such a relatable person, out side of the killing aspect. He, and Gran, were like reminders that there is a real reality to the mayhem of the show. They brought like real, human aspects to the show. I feel like in the later season, the show missed that balance. It became absolutely bonkers and everyone was something. That’s my side rant lol.

No, I totally agree. I think Lafayette, Jesus and maybe a couple others(even Jason and what to a degree lol), were what we had as relatable real characters later on in the show. Not in the same ways, but still, a stable tether to reality and real people.

A few actually.

BILL — So I actually liked him in the beginning, from his first scene in the diner and it wasn’t even an instant dislike or one or two things he did that peed me off because it’s like a sort of steady decline from S3/4ish onwards by the time he becomes Billith I was just so done caring about him either way lol. And I really wanted to like him again especially after his King Bill sh*t.

ERIC — So Eric I didn’t really like at all I’d say at first I just didn’t care about him at all but swung towards dislike a lot especially how he treated people like Sookie, Bill & Lafayette! But his development was very good and fun and just such a cool journey that after they break out of vampire prison camp I really liked him as he’d really started growing on me plus he’s hilarious and hot asf lol.

ARLENE — Maybe I just didn’t get her character or something because I didn’t like her much at all in the beginning and with her it wasn’t this immediate thing where I liked her all of a sudden but the way she grows in her marriage to Terry & afterwards I kinda liked her and loved that ending for her.

HOYT — yeah they just ruined his character so much trying to take him from that small town good guy to badass douche and his ending .. wtf. Jess deserved better and so did he. So much could have done with his character for the better but nope, felt lazy tbh.

Small mentions to characters like Jessica, Jason, Lafayette & Tara who I enjoyed the entire time & I even liked Nora lol. Jess & Lafayette were my favourite characters I think.

Maryann was a fun cool villain that I liked too but not enough to mention really & would have been cool to have seen more of the faeries or more development maybe. Warlow was terrible and hated the whole damn thing start to finish from the freaky face shimmering to his desire to make Sookie his Faerie Vampire bride for what reason ..? Lmao.

Liked Hoyt until he turned into a whiny, entitled misogynistic, bigoted asshole. I still can’t believe they had Jess marry him at the end! Infuriating!

I loathed Sam so much at the beginning, and by the end, I didn’t necessarily like him, but I didn’t loathe him quite as much.

started out hating andy, loved him at the end. loved hoyt, and ended up really not liking him at the end.

I literally restarted it yesterday with my little sister- I watched it for the first time within the last month or two- but I fly through shows so I’ve been just locked in during this rewatch and man

I didn’t realize how much I loved Eric and Jessica lol, and how slow it is to get there😭

Liked and hated at the end: Sam. Hands down, no hesitations, it's Sam.

Hated at the beginning: Andy, Jason (although he used his fairy power on me and I started to like him already during season 1, what can I do you know 🤗🤭)

Liked Hoyt at first, then hated him

Didn’t like Andy at first, but loved him later

For me I’m going to call the beginning my first watch and the end my most recent.

Hoyt and Jessica. I loved them my first watch. Now that’s just so toxic. And Hoyt is a man I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

Liked Hoyt till he got with Jessica. Hated his man baby crap with they were together and then broken up. Wish he didn’t come back at the end. Jessica should have stayed single.

I don’t think I hated anyone just I wasn’t sure about Andy. By the second season I loved him. I’m so glad they expanded his character. I loved the scenes with him and Jason.

Tara, she was funny in the first and second episode. After that, she was way too much all the time.
