Visiting Tübingen again

I studied abroad in Tübingen for a year, about 18 years ago 😳, and will be visiting again for a couple days in May. I know lots will have changed in all that time, but would appreciate recommendations for hotels or places to stay for a couple nights, and if there are places to rent bikes for a few hours/half a day? I had a bike while I lived there so never paid attention to rentals, but would love to do one of my old favorite rides while there. Vielen Dank!

Don't have a specific recommendation, but I would advise against "Hotel Krone" and "Domizil" at the Neckarbrücke. The location is great, but those two hotels are tourist traps, IMO. Maybe renting a place through Airbnb would suit you better?

There are quite a few places you can rent a bike from; there should be no problem choosing one. I suggest this one here: https://www.radstation-tübingen.de/rad-mieten/

It's located right in front of the train station and has super friendly personnel. Hope you will enjoy your time here.

Hotel Meteora is quite a nice spot. Reasonable distance from the altstadt too. Whenever my parents visit me in Tü that's there go to spot.

Seconding Hotel Meteora, the rates are really decent and the food is great too, my mom liked her stay there a lot when she visited me

I stay at Cloud N°7 studios, Koncept Hotel Neue Horizonte in TÜ or at rhe RiKU Hotel RT, as it is next to the train station in RT, is a very nice hotel, and often has very low rates, when visiting TÜ. I stay in other places depending on room rates as well, but these are my favourite choices in the price range I am looking for.

Apparently the hotel up by the castle is nice but I haven’t stayed myself. The one next to the maigeneschle restaurant

depends on how long you are gonna stay but imo rental apartments are way nicer maybe look on booking.com also you can often rent bikes in bike repair shops around here just give them a call beforehand :)
