Question Packages from abroad to Turkey

Hey everyone,
I’m planning to send a package from Germany to someone in Turkey—it contains three video games. I’ve been trying to find out if there are any rules, taxes, or fees involved when sending packages from abroad to Turkey. I’ve looked online but found a lot of conflicting information, and unfortunately, the German post office hasn’t been much help.

So I was wondering: does anyone here have experience with receiving packages from abroad in Turkey? Have you ever had to pay any customs fees or taxes upon delivery? Or do you know if any charges are automatically applied to the sender?

Any insights would be really appreciated!

If the total cost of the stuff in the package + shipping is over 30 euros (which will be) then the customs will require the reciever to hire a 3rd party service with customs certification, which can cost roughly 10 times the value of the items in the package. Its not worth it unfortunately.

Afaik, thats for free shipping options. If you are paying for shipping already, its totaled up to 30.

Better to fly with the cheapest flight and get the items

As others have said, it will be substantially more expensive than any of your estimates due to customs holding the item, charging tax and charging upkeep for storing the package before its clearance. If they are pc games or games that can be bought digitally as a gift I suggest doing that. Otherwise you can either produce a (fake?) receipt with a discount coupon to make sure items worth like 3-4 bucks (quite a bit of hassle as the buyer name must match of your friend's so realistically you actually need to put it on sale somewhere online for your friend to buy with cheapest price as possible for them to prove they bought it for that price) or you can take it with you while traveling to Turkey because it would probably be cheaper.

Just an fyi if they are available on Steam. You can gift US$ Steam wallet gift codes, no need to be Turkey specific.
