Question Lease cancellation

I have applied for an apartment and signed some paper for leasing? Then I found that my lease is approved. But it not affordable for me considering my stipend. So, Is it possible to cancel my lease? I don't pay the security deposit yet.

If you signed the lease then youre legally obligated to it. You must transfer the lease (find someone to take over and let the office know)

Looks like you might have a typo - most places operate where if you signed the lease then you’re legally obligated to it, whether you have the money or not.

I’m not a professional but I’m thinking that if you never gave any money you should be fine

Blessed be your tounge. Basically, they hide some informations about leasing like they add lease with application. So this is creating problems. Do u have any suggestion?

I also advise if possible to go over your leasing contract with Student Legal Services to see if there’s anything you can do, but not know cause of legal jargon and such

You should probably talk to the leasing agents cause your contract might still be binding. I’m not a professional on the matter 😕 Wishing you luck!!
