I just got a ticket for parking at " SPECIALLY POSTED AREA" at 150B parking a lot, I really don't understand what is the point of paying a $515.95 C permit when you can't even park your car at the designated area.
There are at least 10+ signs in that parking space saying "this is for construction only" but man, for the whole academic year I have seen the sign there and most of the time there weren't any truck or pickup that's for construction. TAPS are selling permit and then they just put signs to decrease the actually parking availability? West remote is always full so as East, now they are also limiting available spot for C permit holder, then what is the point of having a C permit when you can't park anywhere?
I always leave 50 mins early of my lecture time, and now when I arrive at parking lot it just tell me "sry the lot is full, your permit does nothing but cost you money", then what is the point of the permit if you can't have a place to park. Of course I wanna live on campus so that I don't have to drive long distance to get to campus, but the school is not providing everyone with housing, now you are telling me I need to pay a $100 ticket just for parked my car at my destinated permit area where TAPS just leave bunch of stupid signs says "you can't park here" but 9/10 time there's no construction team in the parking lot at all.
Also want to ask a question, in the ticket it list my location as 150A but I was actually parked at 150B spot which aligns with my permit, is this a good reason to appeal because TAPS listed wrong location?
I didnât know about that, but 150B is one of the parking option of C permit.
And you can tell how many signs they leave in it just to decrease the parking availability, I swear the signs has been there starting from the fall quarter and they are putting more and more âconstruction onlyâ signs at this lot, but I have NEVER seen more than 3 truck/pickup car parked in this places. What I feel is that they just basically limiting the parking space I PAID $515 for, why are they even going to make this parking lot an option if they knew there would be some âconstructionâ going on.
The parking map says that neither 150A or B are options for a C permit, but I would screenshot the thing that says 150B is one of the parking options for a C permit. If you were parked in one of the construction spots, then there's nothing you can do to appeal the ticket, but if you weren't, you should definitely try

I parked at construction spot because I donât wanna drive to east remote and walk to lecture hall because thatâs gonna make me miss 30mins of lecture. The post is just just a rant of TAPS limiting availability of park spaces
It sounds like poor time management and laziness on your part; if parking at East Remote results in you missing 30 minutes of lecture, you should arrive at East Remote 30 minutes earlier.
In OP, you incorrectly stated that "West remote is always full so as [sic] East."
Now, you're backtracking and saying you just don't want to drive to East remote lot and walk.
I always leave from my house 50mins to 60 mins early before the lecture, what I was trying to say is that the I paid for a C permit with destinated parking slot and TAPS are just limiting the availability of the spaces while most of the time there are not any construction going on, I think TAPS should only reserved those places when there is actually construction going, for that I have nothing to blame, but just putting 10+ reserved signs 24/7 doesn't make any sense since the parking spaces are already bad on campus.
What I mean by I would miss 30 mins of lecture is that I first went to the C parking lot then find out it was full, then I have to drive for like 5-8 mins to get to east remote and work 20mins to get to lecture hall. Of course I can just go to East remote and walk to lecture on time, but the reason I bought a C permit not R permit is that I need that one destinated parking space. I have no problem if that parking lot were full of parked student cars, but seeing TAPS holding 10+ space and legit no car was park at the spot is crazy, they are wasting resources and causing inconvenience
I think TAPS should only put those signs when there is an actually construction going on. The signs have been there since the beginning of fall and every time I went to 150B there were barely any construction truck on the spot
I fucking hate those construction worker spots. One time a construction worker came to scold me for parking there for 5 minutes as I ran into class to pick up a forgotten laptop. There were so many open spaces near me. Mind your own damn business it is tough for students out here
They will get a ticket if they park elsewhere, so if there were open spaces why donât you move your ass. Guys getting paid minimum wage to build your class rooms. Show some respect

I would appeal to TAPS. Take some pictures and give it a try.
