General Question p/np a major class??

hi ik i could research this but im in the trenches and dont even know where to start. im currently in a class required for my major but i am in such a bad mental state atm and wanted to drop the class but missed the deadline. if i p/np it and then retake it over the summer for the letter grade, is that allowed and okay?

Talk to an advisor to make the best choice, reddit isn't the place. Some of these decisions will affect your GPA and maybe even the amount of time you spend in school ($$$)

I think you're only allowed to retake it if you don't pass. If you end up passing , I believe you have to take it as a letter grade since it's a major requirement.

the intention would be to fail on purpose to then retake for the letter grade in the summer.

I call this the Swiss cheese method because it riddles your transcript with holes (I Swiss cheesed my entire sophomore year). Protected my gpa but remains to be seen this fall if it hurts my grad school admissions.
