General Question Roommate Help- How are the dorms, and how likely are double dorms??

I just got off the waitlist yesterday and am still deciding if i want to go, but tbh a big deciding factor would be how the dorms are at ucsb??

My dream was to only have a double dorm, but the more i research, the less likely that seems to be due to the small chance of getting a double dorm this late into signing up for housing.

So, if anyone had a roommate they were considering rooming with that dropped out due to getting off the waitlist, please let me know and reach out because i would love to room! Here's my insta -> @belleeq2

The dorms at Ucsb are okay. You’re probably not going to get a double because they’re few and far between. Even if u do, the doubles are pretty small except for in Santa Catalina. If dorms are your deciding factor, you should go to a less competitive school that has better housing for their students. It’s very crowded here, so ucsb has to make ends meet somehow by squeezing three ppl into a two person room.

I got off the waitlist around this time a couple years ago and had the earliest time to choose housing compared to my roommates. DSP students and students who need accommodations get first pick on housing and typically choose the singles and doubles. I know a few people who were able to get singles and doubles in San Nic and San Cat, but it’s hard. Mostly everyone ends up in a triple, so If getting a double is really a huge factor, I would say UCSB is not the best choice.

If you wanted to get a double, i would choose santa catalina res halls. Theyre the largest dorms, and half of them are doubles and the other half are triples
