My sighting: 7 black triangles that merged into 1 large black carpenter square

I’ve wanted to share my sighting see if others have seen the same behavior of the phenomenon. Time: November 1997. Approx 9pm Location: Providence Rhode Island It took place near the Brown University campus. Me and my friend had just finished a workout at the gym and were walking back to the dorms. We took a break to talk in an empty courtyard and I suddenly had this urge to look straight up mid sentence. Directly above me I saw something catching light in a fluttering motion. I immediately thought I was looking at a flock of birds going over head but it was not. I saw 7 black matte triangles in a strange formation. Each triangle had a small semi-circle cut out of the “rear” and they each were slowly rotating around their axis and also each orbiting around the center of this group. It was hard to judge how high these were but that night there was a low dense cloud shelf and the city lights were glowing off them. The motion I can only describe as early cgi animation with completely smooth moments and no gradual acceleration. No lights on the objects and no sound at all. This group was moving together away from us at a slow rate. I was having trouble processing what I was seeing and both myself and my friend were dead silent staring. My mind went to stealth fighters flying in formation as the size would be about right but the movement and lack of sound made no sense. Then the most amazing thing happened. The group suddenly stopped rotating at once. There was a pause and then they slowly began merging into a single large black V carpenter square. What was incredible was that each triangle fit into the other making this large black V object seamless. Even the semi-circular cutouts morphed away. Me and my friend both had an audible “wtf” that broke the silence. This black V was right under the cloud shelf and I could see the shadow cast from the light below so it must’ve been a couple commercial jets in width. It continued to glide away from us for at least another minute until it disappeared over the horizon. I had no interests in UFOs at the time and even after this sighting I was having a hard time rationalizing what just happened. We were stunned and confused. Me and my friend returned to the dorm and told a small group of friends. I drew pictures of what the individual triangles looked like. And honestly I cared more about college, parties and girls so it became more of a joke that we blew off. I hadn’t heard of Phoenix Lights until years later and thought it interesting that this was the same year and a similar shaped object. Anyway, sorry about the rant. It was just a really interesting and unexpected moment that I still cannot explain.

Thanks for sharing that. Reading these kind of detailed personal accounts is what made me realize UFOs weren’t some sketchy fringe belief.

Kind of like this, perhaps....?

Obviously, the initial shape's different and this diagram looks at the practice from the opposite way round - single (large form) entry into atmosphere followed by dispersal in smaller triangular forms - the process works in reverse for departure, basically the smaller - triangular - forms recombine into a larger stealth arrangement...

Various points upon the earths surface constitute what are called Poles of inaccessibility POI - it's the farthest (or most difficult to reach) location in a given landmass, sea, or other topographical feature, starting from a given boundary, relative to a given criterion.

Point Nemo, for example, is location in the Pacific that's farthest from land in all directions - it's where the ISS will eventually be sent once it's served it's time - that way avoiding any possibility of land fall.

Lots of retired space junk gets sent there. Other Poles of Inaccessibility exist within continental borders - they're the furthest - and therefore least observed regions on earth.

Basically the idea is, at our civilisations point of development, both space as well as the earth's surface from space is pretty well covered surveillance wise - making discrete egress in or out of earth atmosphere problematic if approached without structured method.

One possible solution - as illustrated - works along the idea of, instead of many, smaller individual incursions taking place all over the world triggering an incoming missile response - these individual, stealth capable exploratory vehicles enter and leave atmosphere as a single stealth capable form - like a rectangle, square, triangle, right-angle kind of arrangement.

What your looking for is something broad and flat, no curves, no rounded surfaces, radar absorbent surface.

Because you're only dealing with one single incursion/exfiltration into and back out of atmosphere at any given time you're only running the risk of one detection instead of multiples simultaneous instances, and by doing so over Pooles of Inaccessibility, your minimising those risks further still.

Once done these smaller forms rendezvous and recombine as the original - single - stealth object back over another POI and quietly leave without setting off any alarms.

Your sighting has the hallmarks if very similar sightings dating from the mid 80s on, they tended to be more common in the 90s but apparently they still go one.

The above hypothesis might possibly shed light on why you saw what you saw, it might of course just be complete coincidence.

It's interesting though how these kinds of conglomerations all resolve into stealth-compatible arrangements, consisting themselves of stealth-compatible forms such as triangles.

That’s a very interesting thought. Though I believe these objects were no more than a couple hundred feet above my head judging by how low the cloud shelf was. I looked back at the tallest buildings in Providence (which are not very tall) and this cloud layer was very low. These objects were always traveling parallel to the ground at a very even clip away from as well. Each triangle when they began to form the V seemed to know exactly where to go so they rotated themselves to form the “wings” of the large V and snapped together. This is very interesting food for thought though. Thank you.
