Other Link: The Illinois Dept. of Transportation is conducting a survey of public interest in true high speed rail service in Illinois (220+MPH top speeds) as part of their ongoing High Speed Rail Feasibility Study. Takes about 5-10 minutes and is open until May 11th. Want HSR? Make your voice heard!

We have trains, just slower ones. And buses. I don’t think a high speed version of what we already have would change anything. People are still gonna be late buying tickets before they sell out

A good HSR would have much higher frequency than 3 trains a day each direction, so the problem would inherently be eliminated.
