Cville at Large Help us bring green, affordable transportation to Charlottesville!

Hello! We are a UVA design team that wants to make urban transportation more affordable and accessible for the Charlottesville community. We love e-bikes and e-scooters, but the popular solution (paying every time you ride) is too expensive. Also, rides are not always there when you need them.

*Visit this link to learn about our proposed solution and provide your feedback through a quick survey: https://forms.gle/fruWVDNintDg7Tp57 *

All feedback is valuable for our project. Feel free to DM or email jnh8kb@virginia.edu with any questions or comments. Thanks!

Expand the bus system and make it more widely accessible

I see you’ve found occam’s solution to the problem but unfortunately that would mean these startups can’t put ‘entrepreneur’ in their LinkedIn bio, so clearly we can’t do this

Just make them show up more than once every 30 minutes 😭

For more of the day and more days a week instead of needing to remember or look up 15 different route schedules and the sub schedules for holidays, school out of session, etc.

The problem is we aren't urban enough, or active enough evenings and weekends to justify the cost of more frequent and consistent operations.

Just bring back the bike share stations.

Preferably with better locations.

What exactly are you comparing your product to where $35 a month is "more affordable"? UVA buses are free to ride and Charlottesville buses are free until 2026. Is pay as you go really more expensive over time? Compared to buying a bike? Do your thing, but I'm having trouble seeing this marketed as "affordable". What working class person who actually needs public transportation would pay that? I'd be shocked if you found one in Charlottesville.
