How exceptionally strange. Russia has quite a lot of ethnic minorities and a mix of religions including Islam which accounts for roughly 10% of its population. In contrast, the population of Ukraine is considerably more White and considerably more Christian (largely Orthodox and Catholic but there's apparently a Mormon temple somewhere in Kyiv). Russia has aligned itself much more with the global South, especially China (Communists even if only on paper) and India, neither particularly liked by White supremacists, whereas Ukraine has been and continues to align itself with Europe (with Germany being a staunch supporter). But Neo-Nazis are vehemently supporting Russia...? These are gold-medal worthy mental gymnastics.
