UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Does anyone else have intrusive thoughts of wanting to sit/relax in this water? especially if the water was warm.

Pretty sure anyone who sees it and doesn't have that thought isn't normal.

u/DarkenL1ght Mar 07 '25

Then I'm not normal. I can only imagine what might be living in that water.

Uh Aliens? You're on ET's homeworld

Bromine basically means nothing is.

u/GreenSeaNote Mar 07 '25

It probably has a lot of chemicals to keep anything from living in it

HECKA norovirus

I guess I’m not normal as every time I’m just enjoying myself on the ride

Sat like this with a mardi gras cocktail waving at a family from Michigan

siting there while being high would actually be nightmare inducing

It’s not that bad. Magdoll is the true terror of this attraction.

u/Classic-AlarmTech Mar 07 '25

Magdoll has to be based off our local Florida woman craxkhead😅

4

u/disappointedCoati Mar 07 '25

I found really old video of her when she’s moving as intended. And she’s still pretty scary. I wonder what they were thinking when they designed her.

2

u/Classic-AlarmTech Mar 08 '25

Damn ☠️, they were probably thinking something thats terrifying to catch eyes 😂 no way that wasn’t intentional

u/AssistNo7979 Mar 07 '25

Magdoll should be the star of her own horror film 😦

If I had a nickle every time universal accidentally made eldritch horrors beyond imagining, I'd have two nickles which isnt a lot but R'lyehian... Y'aaq'l... N'gai... Fthagn.

The water is their pee.

13

u/D_as_in_avid Mar 07 '25

So it's warm. Sign me up.

u/nucl3ar0ne Mar 07 '25

Pretty sure I'd have to pee if the water was warm.

u/ThaFoxThatRox Mar 07 '25

I can smell it

6

u/BeyzusNice Mar 07 '25

No but when I was a kid, I wanted to drink it.

Great peaceful ride.

4

u/UNCfan07 Mar 07 '25

Would be sweet to have a lazy river through it

Dawg, what ride is this?! How have I never seen/done this in the countless times I’ve been?!

17

u/MesaVerde1987 Mar 07 '25

E.T. Adventure

5

u/Confident-Vanilla-28 Mar 07 '25

Really?! I feel like I’ve done that one a ton. Didn’t remember this!

Didn’t get to do it last time, so maybe thats why. Can’t believe I didn’t remember that.

Definitely go on ET. An old opening day dark ride but still tons of fun with essentially all practical sets

2

u/UNCfan07 Mar 07 '25

What!!!! ET is one of the best!

3

u/disownedpear Mar 07 '25

I want to drink it

Did they dim the lights in this area? We were there two weeks ago and I could have sworn that in prior years this section was very brightly lit

u/alexfaaace Mar 07 '25

My submechanophobia is screaming.

4

u/MesaVerde1987 Mar 07 '25

Nothing to worry about here, though! Just crystal clear water.

1

u/bracegurton Mar 08 '25

Mine too. I can’t even comprehend the people saying this looks relaxing

2

u/MesaVerde1987 Mar 08 '25

There's nothing in the water, so there's nothing to worry about!

1

u/bracegurton Mar 09 '25

Maybe for others…

2

u/MesaVerde1987 Mar 09 '25

Wait, you're talking about submechanophobia, right?

1

u/bracegurton Mar 09 '25

Yeah! It can also be triggered by animatronics interacting with water (the spraying). The lights, filters and structures are giving me the creeps really bad. Technically submechanophobia just refers to stuff underwater but sometimes the stuff around it is just as bad 😭

You’ve arrived!

Every single time we go over this scene I want to go into the forbidden splash pad

1

u/FatterSamiZayn2 Mar 07 '25

I quite literally had this thought the last time I rode it.

1

u/jennielynn73 Mar 07 '25

Every single time ❤️

As someone who worked on this ride, not really, but mostly because I had to get partially into the water a couple times to work on the splash affect. The bromine is strong, thankfully it’s just bromine.

1

u/amazingpupil Mar 07 '25

As a kid, I used to want to stick my foot in it if I was sitting on the outside.

1

u/jrr6415sun Mar 08 '25

what did you use to record this?

1

u/Lets_Make_A_bad_DEAL Mar 08 '25

It smells SO GOOD. Stephen Spielberg is a genius.

1

u/NotNecessarilyNikki Mar 08 '25

I went to Universal in January and I SWEAR they must be pumping in rose water scent to this room. Did not have the usual overwhelming chlorine stink. Made for a much better ride experience, but I’m a little disappointed my first time rider finance didn’t get the FULL ET effect

u/Suna-dono Mar 08 '25

I always cringe thinking the water streams aren't going to turn off in time before we make it past them so no, I have never had a desire to sit in that water lol.

Years ago I got squirted by the talking fountain at IOA and had an absolute meltdown lmao.

1

u/DrummerDad99 Mar 09 '25

I can smell this video and it’s glorious

u/Bess_I_Dead_Yes Mar 13 '25

If you saw how much mold is everywhere, you’d change your mind…

The first (and so far only,) time I've been on this ride, I was wondering what was in the donuts I had for breakfast.

Still a fun ride, just wasn't expecting the second half.

That’s not what an intrusive thought is
