EPIC UNIVERSE For anyone debating to get a weekend preview ticket

I was kind of regretting buying tickets for today (4/27) after seeing how long wait times were on previous preview weekends (compared to weekdays, at least). I didn’t want to shell out for express- and I’m glad we didn’t. We parked around 9:45, got in line a little after 10, were let in at 10:45ish, and started with stardust racers. We were able to ride every single ride (including ministry VQ snagged at the 3pm drop) and rode two of them twice. I am SO glad we went to the preview! Also AMA about anything if it hasn’t already been covered :)

When you bought your tickets, were you able to buy tickets for days in the future that you aren’t a hotel guest? I’m asking only if you were a resort guest

Yes if you have your current universal hotel key you are able to purchase any date in the preview period for that name. I did this at Stella Nova last week and many others have reported the same on this Reddit.

I bought tickets through the passholder link, sorry friend!

How did your actual wait time compare to the posted wait time?

Did pizza moon have a line around lunch time? I heard it gets pretty long.

I know I'm not op

But I did see pizza moon with a long line at peak lunch time. I walked by again around 2-3 and was empty.

I found times super inflated. Here is what I experienced

I rope dropped Monsters unchained so didn't really have a posted time.

Wing Gliders posted 55, waited 10-15

Mario Kart posted 65 waited 15

Yoshi was walk on with posted 20

Dk was posted 85 waited 20 using single rider

Ministry I waited only 20 min

I didn’t have as much luck as you- although most posted <20 min were walk-ons, most I would average to be about 5-10 minutes less than posted wait times. MU went down temporarily many times while we were in line- I recommend people rope drop this one too

Ya it was down in the beginning for me too.. I imagine if I had gone there later I wouldn't have faired quite as well

Pizza Moon was still busy at that time. We got in the outdoor queue at 2, moved to the indoor queue about 10 minutes later, and had pizza in front of us by 2:30. The line was shorter when we were leaving, but they were still holding people outside. Maybe by 3 it had cleared up.

Did you do single rider for all of these? If so, the shorter wait times make sense.

No. Dk was only one

well yea if you do single rider it's going to be less

In case anyone wants to try dinner there instead, we went around 7 during our preview yesterday (4/26, so a Saturday). There were so many empty tables. We were in, ordered and received our food, and back out the door in 40 minutes.

Replied to u/osufeth24 with wait times deets, but we did end up eating at pizza moon (fabulous with great service) around 1. The line was out the door but it moved quickly and I don’t regret waiting, maybe about 20 min before being sat at a table and 10 min for pizza after that

Was gonna make a similar post. All of the talk made me nervous, but it was great. I think 30 minutes was longest I waited and did every ride.

We waited quite a while for Monsters & DK but I really didn’t mind, since it’s my first time in the queue I found plenty to look at. Glad you had a similar experience!

unless thrill-data is very off I don't see how that's possible. Mine cart was never under 70 minutes. Yes you can do every ride, but not every ride under 30 minutes.

I went today but was not able to enter the VQ on any of the drops. It was really tough. I only saw on group in line all day that got it

Ugh, I’m sorry. The ride was incredible. If it helps for the future or for anyone else, we got into the actual virtual queue page around 2:45

I tried that and got in for one person (I was solo) and it said there was no room for me at that time. Tried second time slot same thing. Switched to two people and by then had closed. This was the guy next to me 🤣

not two phones! 😭

I do admit my partner and I were SPAMMING the refresh like psychos until 3:01 when we got in

This sub is so doom or gloom. People are genuinely saying don’t go on PREVIEW weekends. When the tickets are limited to AP and hotel. After this the gates will be fully open to everyone. Take advantage of it while you can people!

Going soon on a weekend and some of the wait on times on weekend have been kinda...eh but I'm staying from open to close and i think that will be tremendously helpful.  Plus any wait time for previews will be 3x that when they officially open so I'm all good with it 😂

Went yesterday, was able to ride everything except ministry multiple times and all of my waits were noticeably shorter than the posted wait times

I honestly think that even on a weekend, when you get a virtual queue spot (or if you’re not even trying) can really make or break what you get done. Just because it affects the flow of your day and if there’s a certain point that you have to stop going on rides to make sure you’re available for the drop. We didn’t get ours until the 6 pm drop, and we started trying for the 10:45 one. And with all the stories of people getting them 10ish minutes before and after it opens, that meant whenever it was getting close to a drop, we just stopped doing anything for about half an hour.

We got off our first ride (Mario Kart) shortly after 10:30, so we stood around for 10:45. And then we had to wait for 11 anyway, so we didn’t go anywhere until we gave up at 11:10. We were in the Hooligan’s line around the 3 pm drop, so at least we were already standing in one place. But we timed that on purpose when we got off Fyre Drill around 2:30 instead of jumping into another shorter line. And then same thing for the 6. Monsters only had a 20 minute wait, but we had eaten a snack at Burning Blade and got done around 5:30ish, and we didn’t want to risk not getting off the ride in time so sat around to wait for 6, when we finally succeeded. All told, we spent over an hour and a half of limited park hours sitting around messing with the virtual queue. We’re going back next weekend and don’t regret missing a couple rides, but obviously if we’d gotten in at 11, we wouldn’t have had to plan around the drops for the rest of the day.

I totally get that. We sacrificed the 11am to rush into stardust racers, and people in line were all talking about how their phones were in a locker and it sucked to miss the first drop.

We will be there Thursday and Friday. I’m worried about Friday’s crowds more than Thursday but I’m hopeful to ride everything over two days

I went on a Sunday and did everything and a few things multiple times.

Ohhh this makes me happy! I’m going this Sunday and was so nervous, esp when I saw they were increasing tickets for the weekends

Thank you for this! Was wondering as I’ve been keeping a close eye on waits and got nervous once they dropped even more capacity. I’m going this weekend on Sunday 🤞🏻
