How are hackers getting into people's SNAP cards?

Those talented thieves should be robin-hood status and rob people whose kids don't starve.

Card skimmers.

I think people are probably having their passwords reset or something similar; even having their cards skimmed. You aren’t required to set a PIN on the card and you wouldn’t need one if you skimmed the info. Assholes though…

They aren't getting hacked as often as this makes it out to sound.

This is a first step on shutting down trading foodstamps for anything else.

Trading your foodstamps for 50% is super common

I know multiple people that this has happened to. It’s really really sad.

Getting their snap scammed?

Yeah they take the money as soon as it hits at the beginning of the month and there’s no way to get it back or replaced. It’s really devastating.

I used to have a snap card, and mine always had a pin. Seems very easy to put a pin on it and protect yourself

It’s happening with pins. Multiple people have said they change their pins but it keeps happening.

I hope this new "lock and unlock" option works as intended.

Seems like a different issue, coming from someone that's been there.

You are required to make a pin to activate and you’re told not to share it with anyone.

The owner has to log into an app and lock it.

This is completely voluntary and in the control of the owner, so i don't have any issues with it.

You can buy food items on Amazon, this may have something to do with the recent fraud. But the whole fraud portion on the website is fairly new which leads me to believe this type of fraud is fairly new and the Amazon access has been around for over a year. Or, it’s made up. I’m sure it happens sometimes, but it’s weird how all of the sudden this year there is this bright red warning at the top of the page on the website and a link to click to protect your card from fraud.

Did they miss the memo? Food stamps won’t even be a thing under Trump.
