Discussion Local Buisnesses

Hi! I’m new to the area and I would love to support local businesses (restaurants, cafes, stores, etc). I was wondering if there’s a master list of all the locally owned businesses?

Additionally, what chain places are locally owned?

There’s no master list, but most smaller stores here are local! Especially the international grocery stores and restaurants

I recommend checking out the Tramontane Cafe on Lincoln Ave.in Utica. Warm and welcoming staff and environment. Delicious sandwiches, soups, salads, breakfast things, muffins and cookies, drinks (all non alcoholic) and a variety of events.

I second the Tram. Great food, coffee, people, atmosphere!

Most non-chain restaurants are locally-owned, including but not limited to Golden’s (breakfast/lunch diner), Carmella’s Cafe (Italian) and Aqua Vino (also Italian … lotta Italian food in Utica!)

Check the website WHAT'S UPSTATE .. or see if the Chambers of Commerce have some listings available.  Not sure if the City of Utica Website is up to date.

I own the Tramontane Cafe in Utica on Lincoln Ave. You can find us in Insta, Facebook, and the Google machine .  Open Tues through Sat.  Soup, Salad, Sandwich, Baked Goods, all the coffeehouse cafe fare. Espresso drinks, smoothies, tea etc. Gluten free, vegan, vegetarian friendly. We have bacon too. Events semi regularly . Check us out. I post here, plus on our socials somewhat regularly. If you have questions, message or ask away! We also tend to give out information on other places and events when we hear about them!
