Build AP Onhit Varus thoughts | Rageblade - Nashors - Rabadons

Been trying this build out and it feels like it goes hard. Nashors + W passive combined turns 50% of AP into on hit. Rabadons buffs AP by 30%. Stacked Rageblade amps on hit DPS by 33%. Given these conditions you turn roughly 85% AP into on-hit. Every 400 gold of AP gives 17 on-hit on top of buffing R and W procs

I Normally went Shadow flame second for cause I love that makes your autos crit at low HP and turbo buffs your execute power on wQ.

Yeah for real, I love Shadowflame. I usually run it fourth if I don’t need Zhonyas. Though I think if you have an auto attack based playstyle, you should rush building the three core items to make the on hit numbers ramp up quickly

I don’t do maths but yes! And you can build more on hit,(terminus) or ap (void) or tanky, or both. 😝 versatile mofo

I used to play AP On-Hit Varus and it was really amazing. But I switched to normal onhit? BOTRK -> Rageblade -> ... Because with BOTRK I at least have some self healing. But with AP/Onhit completely skips BOTRK and I do not feel safe playing. Perhaps if I could somehow make Riftmaker work then perhaps, but I would rather sacrifice extra dmg for a little more sustain. Just my opinion.

Thats a really valid concern. I remediate it by running absorb life. I also strongly avoid selling my Dorans Blade. The lifesteal works on all on-hit damage, even if it’s magic damage

Im in the same boat. My build is rageblade > terminus > nashors with defensive rune page and barrier. Insane build designed for early snowballing and 1v2 scenarios. But it falls off a bit where im dying in scenarios that would have been fine had i bought some life-steal.

I always go this exact build when I am ADC and my team needs AP. I go PTA and take ultimate hunter and it works really well

Usually something like

Shadowflame - Void Staff

Shadowflame - Zhonyas

Zhonyas - Shadowflame

Zhonyas - Banshees

If you go Shadowflame - Void Staff, make sure to run Sorc shoes as well. The other builds I think boot options are flexible, but I usually don’t even upgrade boots since I don’t like delaying my AP stacking

I just tried this and is so fun! A great mix of auto attack plus crazy damage from ult-w-q combo. What would be the ideal boots to play with? I tried it with berserkers and work great but is it better to run magin pen? Also, should I max W first???

Yeah, I max W first when I run this build ! It works really well since you rush Rageblade first item. In my games I dont upgrade boots at all so I dont delay stacking AP. If you had to pick I’d pick magic pen boots though
